Do you have made the decision to root your LG Esteem? I’ve found the complete tutorial for you. This guide is not complicated, but there is still a possibility of bricking your LG Esteem. But you should be sure to backup your phone firstly and be comfortable with what you are doing and follow the instructions carefully.
At First, you will need the LG Esteem USB modem driver to connect to your phone.

Then, enable USB Debugging on your LG Esteem: Go to Settings > Applications > Developement > Enable Debugging
After that, download the following files:

- http://www.androidnerds.net/forums/index.php?action=downloads;sa=downfile&id=10
Extract all the files; make sure that your phone is plugged with USB Debugging enabled, then run the run.bat file. Don’t do anything till it’s finished!
Once you flash the Recovery image, I recommend using ROM Manager to backup your current ROM first. Then you can go to find a custom one.
If you don’t want to root your LG Esteem for whatever reason.On your phone settings go to Privacy and select Factory Data Reset. After doing this your phone will reset to factory state and will no longer be rooted.
